Become our next Chief Executive in Common / Group Chief Executive Designate

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the newly created role of Chief Executive in Common/Group Chief Executive Designate for Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (Shropcom) and The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH).

Our two Trusts are working closely in partnership and we are committed to progressing further as we explore an NHS Group model. Together, we serve our communities with a £850m budget and more than 9,000 dedicated colleagues, committed to delivering high-quality, integrated healthcare.

This is an exciting opportunity to build on existing progress and drive further integration across both organisations, ensuring seamless patient care, improving service delivery, and enhancing healthcare outcomes. We seek an ambitious, inspiring leader who will shape our future, champion transformation, and promote excellence for patients and staff alike.

Our vision is to create a modern NHS, offering more services closer to home, supported by thriving hospitals. Key initiatives include:

  • A £300m Hospitals Transformation Programme – a once-in-a-generation investment to enhance acute services.
  • A Local Care Transformation Plan, focused on tackling health and rural inequalities by developing neighbourhood services.
  • Education, digital innovation, clinical redesign, and estates transformation, ensuring we provide exceptional care and value to our patients.
  • Cultural and organisational improvements, ensuring an environment where staff feel valued, empowered, and supported in their professional growth.

As Chief Executive in Common, you will lead with vision, harnessing the expertise of both trusts to realise synergies, efficiencies, and meaningful service integration.

We seek a compassionate leader with substantial experience in senior healthcare management – someone highly skilled at guiding teams through complex transformation while fostering strong partnerships.

If you have a passion for improving health and care, a track record of visionary leadership, and the ability to foster strong partnerships, we would love to hear from you.

This is a pivotal moment to shape the future of healthcare in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. Join us in delivering exceptional care and value, championing a progressive NHS, and making a lasting difference for patients and families.
